how to plant the C3 properly on the tanks?!

it just beeps everytime i try to plant help?!

So, first make sure there's no Alerts or Cautions going on.
Then equip the C3.
Lean against the tank and press the L and R button.

If you have to, crawl under the tanks and set the C3 on the floor there. Works surprisingly well.
