I haven't found any keys, but I've found books, bags, and clothes, all of which had to be returned to the villagers that lost them.

Same. Not in the river though xD I've also done several time capsule hiding deals.

Arrggh! How do you do a time capsule! I've got one I've been trying to get rid of for two weeks now. I've tried every way I can think of to bury it, and none work...Thanks for any help you can provide!

Here you go :)

- talk to the neighbor and they give you a time capsule
- bury it and remember (I plant mine next to a tree on a cliff edge)
- talk to them again
- wait a day or two and check that the hole (X mark) has disappeared.
- one day it'll pop up again so dig it up
- give it back to the person who gave it to you

The time capsule is an item in your mail inventory. Yeah, that stumped me for a while. It is the same as burying a fruit, but you use your mail inventory, not your regular inventory.
