So, to move a character to another town, select continue at the title screen, pick which character (only non-mayor characters can move), and then select "I need help with something first..." when Isabelle asks you if you're ready to play.

Then choose "Move to another town."

The following is taken from the game:
"When you move, you can take your house, money, furniture, pockets, saved letters, and custom designs.
"However, items you're holding on to for other residents and items that aren't yours can't make the move.
"That goes double for letters still in your mailbox and letters you might be expecting.
"Also, if you have anything up for sale in Re-Tail, it won't make the move with you."

-You DO NOT get to re-make your character's face during the opening conversation on the train.

-You DO keep the contents of your locker.
-You DO keep the former set-up of your house, both inside and out, and you DO receive your house immediately upon telling Nook where to place it.

Hope this helps anyone that was curious.

Where would the character move to?

A new town within the same cartridge or would you need to purchase another copy of New Leaf?
