At first I thought they travel in pods, but no, that's dolphins.

And yeah I miss the old puns. Most of the capture messages are rhymes instead (like "I caught a squid! Oh yes I did!")

I think this is one of the better catching jokes in New Leaf. A lot of them are really corny or just lame. (Though I think that was intentional.)

Perhaps it's because technically the correct pluralization of "octopus" is either "octopuses" or "octopodes" the latter of which is pronounced "octoPODS"?
