I saw that picture too but once I found out it would block all my patterns I didn't go ahead with it. As I don't want the paths on a separate person in case I accidentally remove a tile and need to replace it.

I'm using the brown small tile squares (Without the borders) and then the same one with green in between for my more off the track areas.
Eventually I want to pull them up so I'll have dirt paths but need to wear the grass out underneath first.
I'm lining my paths with street lamps/etc to stop people moving in on top of them, then when someone moves in I lay a new path to their door ^^
