Question about rolling back my clock

#1Zeldafan59Posted 8/21/2013 9:08:38 AM
I'm on Sept.8th in game and Derwin just told me he wants to move on Sept 13th. I've been wanting to roll back my clock in one swoop to get back to the current real date but have been afraid of losing Coco or Peanut if I do it like that.

Can I answer Derwin (yes or no?) and use his plans to move to safely go back in time from in game 9/08/13 to August 21st (today)? The villager moving still confuses me at times. Thanks very much!

Yes. As long as a villager has asked to move, regardless of your answer, no one else will want to move that day and you can safely change your clock so long as turnips are sold and everything else is in order.

question on top of the TC's question then... if you told said villager NO to him/her moving out and you change your clock/date as much as the TC is planning to do will that villager still move or go off your answer of NO?

As long as they've accepted your answer of no, they will stay even if you time travel. That's why one of the main points of advice for time traveling is to find someone who's considering moving, tell them to either stay or go, and then time travel.

Yippee! Thank-you Pokegirl and Miz too. I was going to tell Derwin to move to be safe. But now I can keep him and move the clock back 18 days at once with no ramifications. Derwin is pretty cool for a geeky duck, but not worth potentially losing Coco. Now, I can have my cake and eat it too.

Thanks to both of you.

EDIT: Miz, it worked fine! I rolled it back a month to Aug 9th (in case the T/T bug gets me) and I have all 9 villagers I had before and no negative consequences. This is the most important tip I've learned about the game so far. :)

^^^ Right you are Miz. Your post slipped in before I did an edit above it.

Pokegirl, your expertise on this subject is wonderful and much appreciated.

Thank-you! :)
