Snaking

MKWii's Mini Turbo mechanics are by far more intuitive than the bullcrap used in MK64-MKDS.

You mean more simple? I am way more comfortable with MK64s drifting mechanic than the Wiis, for example. Its not excessive like DS (although I can live with DS snaking), but the right use of it will definitly bring a difference between people.

Keep in mind, its called Mario Kart Wii.

At the risk of exposing myself as ignorant... What is snaking? I've seen the term around a lot, but never saw an explanation.

Snaking is a technique of using MTs on straights, also called straight-stretch-miniturbo, or SSMT.

I'd like them to remove turbo drifting.

I personally dont drift often and that disadvantages me.

Im not asking the game to be realistic, but getting a speed boost because you drifted instead of turning normally is lame IMO.

I'd say chances are slim we'll see snaking in this game. The reason? Nintendo doesn't like snakers.

Snaking became useless when Bikes were implemented.

Actually, Karts overall became useless.

Sure, Karts can do level 2 Drift boosts, but it takes alot of time to pull one off, a Level 1 is enough, and Snaking is a chore.

Bikes can still do level 1 Drift boosts, and can Wheelie, which makes Snaking obselete.

Mariobike plz.

As long as Mini-Turbos are in the game, it's almost inevitable that snaking will be too. Whether it's the most effective way to travel should be the main topic of debate concerning snaking, instead of its presence in the game.
