Is DOAD a template of what to expect with NG for 3DS?

I really hope not because I feel more work & love could've been put into DOAD....like letting us PLAY as Samus!! In all seriousness though Itagaki was the bread & butter of that franchise, without him & his style of thinking its just not gonna be as good. Ninja Gaiden DS was a VERY impressive title & I am really concerned that we wont get that same level of quality without him...the new guy justvisnt as good or imaginative.

So fellow gamers what are your thoughts?

I miss Itagaki, but at the same time I think I'm glad he's gone. Comparing NG2 to NGS2 as an product, over-all I think Hayashi did a much better job. I know Itagaki had a lot of crap going on while working on NG2, but I doubt it would have made THAT much of a difference in the end if he didn't have that extra pressure.

From my understanding from what I've read, this game would have never happened with Itagaki or it would have had a completely different outcome. He disliked the PSP due to the main aspect of the handheld being it's raw power (sure it wasn't that powerful, but in comparison the DS, it was a lot more capable graphically).

DOA:D doesn't really seem like a game designed to utilize the unique capabilities of the 3DS as NG:DS did on the DS (unfortunately I never played it because I didn't have a DS, but I've read and watched a lot of videos of it. I plan on picking it up sometime soon). The main focus on the game seems to have been the game-play and graphics, which is why I believe Itagaki would have never have allowed this, since it pretty much went against what he believed in when it came to developing games.

After reading the latest news about NG3 (blood returns, difficulty won't be dumbed down, etc), I'm a lot more comfortable now then I was before. Like I said, I haven't played NG:DS, so I can't really comment much on the newer NG DS game.

I know & considering it isnt even out yet Im not saying you have to comment on it. Im merely putting it out there in the universe that compaired to Ninja Gaiden DS (which got ALL of Itagaki's love & attention) NGDS2 or whatever they'll call it might fall short since Team Ninja is under new management & Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is inferior to 360 NG2.

Wasn't Hayashi the Director of NGDS??
