o and i hope some day birdo is a mario partner now then waht species is birdo (i know birdo in the games is a trans gender)

According to the Japanese website for Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Birdo is "Yoshi's boyfriend". No comment here.

I think that's just her race. Kind of like Yoshi is a yoshi.

Birdo is just a birdo. Maybe even the female equivalent to a Yoshi? Like how a cow is the female and abull is the male. Could anybody please provide proof of there has ever been a female yoshi in a canon Mario game? If there aren't any, my theory is most likely correct.

in mario 2 birdo was MALE but wanted to be female

and soem time after mario 2 birdo has a sex change
