"There are no original characters in this title like the ones which appeared in previous games in the Paper Mario series"

"We did our very best to create an adventure game filled with battles completely unrelated to experience points and level ups."

"We tried to move away from the old Paper Mario series...Although we tried to keep the part of the Mario & Luigi battle system which emphasizes well-timed button presses, we didn't really draw any ideas or inspiration from those games."

"My personal reason for choosing the fixed level style was to make it easy for you to stop playing at any time."

"As we were working on using stickers in battles and in puzzles the things you could do often seemed to conflict with the use of partners. For Sticker Star we decided to prioritize the sticker theme and remove the partners."

"You can increase your maximum HP by completing events, but there is no real change to Mario’s abilities throughout the game"

I like the game, but all these things that they tried to do intentionally were not needed.

I'm not unhappy with the game as a whole because it looks really fun, but I don't know why they feel the need to abandon unique characters from the series. I'm indifferent but I'm going to buy it.

I thought the original formula for the series was perfect. Why they feel like changing it so much is beyond me. So no I don't like the way the series is heading. Not that I hate the new one, I just much prefer the older style.

Definitely dislike. A lot of the changes they made shows that Miyamoto doesn't want the Mario series to progress, which is very lame. 20 year old characters and tropes get old after a while.

This game is going in a very bad diredction, and needs to be fixed before it heads into a "resident evil6/Final fantasy 13 State."

Miyamoto has nothing to do with any Mario RPG.

The game's okay as a one-off, but if all of that is the direction they are trying to steer the series then I must say... I will probably pass on the next title.
