Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Early game footage showed Mario with allies such as a cute little Chain Chomp and a green Toad.

This means, in the middle of development, they decided to ditch allies completely.

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU NINTENDO?

Ugh... Early footage also showed a house-of-cards type area, and a battle with a mole-king of some sort. That stuff is awesome! Why'd they cut that out? With all that stuff they had earlier which they cut out, they could've at least extended it to 8 worlds and given the 8th world more full levels.

Okay, the game is fun, but they've just managed to screw up a few important things... Maybe next time they make a Paper Mario game. Maybe next time.

Yes, but allies are vital, and I'd pay an extra $20 (don't tell Nintendo that, I don't want them getting any ideas) to play in a house of cards and have a Chain-Chomp friend.

Green Toad is still there, but he was never a battle partner you get him the same place you it showed in the pictures. He's a cowardly toad you have to guide back to toad town to get the clue to the windmill.

I used to be perplexed at all the hate that D3 got until I realized that the series is the western equivalent of Final Fantasy and the fanbase hasn't caught on.

Not if IS didn't bother to tweak it at all. However, partners could be worked into the general concept of a consumable based battle system.
