2wingedangelPosted 11/19/2012 8:35:44 PM | It's not you, the Big Cheep Chomp gets harder to avoid after you finish the level once, which sucks because there's two Comet Pieces there. The main thing to focus on is just keep moving while watching where it's going to be. If you can't see it, watch out for its shadow. That's all I can say besides the fact that a direct hit is an instant Game Over.

HextatorPosted 11/19/2012 9:01:38 PM | I have a trick I use that seems to always work, but if you don't do it precisely weird things will happen (like the fish locking onto you and becoming unavoidable).
It always goes straight down the middle at the beginning; while it does I move to the right.
After that I move to the left to get the raft gliding that direction and try to get it to float to the middle on its own just as Bertha pops up. Before she does, I move to the other side and face right to trick her into thinking I'm going right. Sometimes she'll even miss by a wide margin as though the AI is actually reacting to the direction I'm facing, so that might be the key.
After she looks at me for a split second, I run back to the left and use the momentum I built up earlier to push the rest of the way to the other side. As soon as she starts going back to look up at me again, I move to the right again to repeat the process in the other direction and just do that back and forth until I've gotten past.
Would be nice if someone could confirm the strategy above and put it in an FAQ or something. I personally thought Bertha was the hardest part of the game. More Game Overs there than anywhere else. Actually, I don't even know that I've gotten a Game Over anywhere else. |
