Why does this game have 3 less chapters?

There doesn't seem to be any reason not to. World 6 was so half-assed that it doesn't even qualify as a chapter. I guess IS just phoned this game in.

Yeah, I think after Miyamoto told them they couldn't make a good game, IS just kind of decided **** it and stopped caring.

Yeah, the game seemed long enough if you 100% it, but still... five full worlds and then what is basically a half world? Ehhh...

Warioland was kinda the same way (5 full worlds and a much shorter 6th world), except they also had a completely separate bonus world, and the treasures as well, which made 100%'ing it actually worthwhile if you didn't use cheats...

When was that made though? Besides, there really wasn't a precedent for that game to live up to since it was a new series. I know you probably weren't even saying that, I'm just pointing it out.

That's just it, it set the beginning to a whole new series, and just about a separate franchise in itself with the Wario games. It didn't have any expectations set of it as a series because it was its own thing.

...at least, I would say that, but it was still "Super Mario Land 3"... but the main difference is that that game was made without the attempt at being the same, while this game was, years ago, shown to be something completely different than it was on release.

Also, as a side-note, Warioland was my first handheld game ever, and to this day holds a special place in my gaming heart... ;D

That's me but for Wario Land 2 and 3 almost at the same time.

It's awesome. It's also on the 3DS Virtual Console, in case you weren't aware... =)
