Anyone else think that SPM has the best story of any Mario game?

Of all the Mario games I've played, SPM has the best story.

Easily, yeah. The story kept me going during the most boring chapters and complemented the best ones very well.

Had a Street Fighter signature for four years, but Crapcom doesn't deserve such recognition anymore.

Agreed; I was actually compelled through each chapter that the characters of each world had something going for them, and it made me continue playing just to see how their fates would turn out.

In this game...there's just, Toad..Toad, and that Red Toad...but, that's it...>_>

I spent the aftergame looking for Blumiere and Timpani in hopes of finding them again. Do I need to say more?

Best post-game use of a boss ever.


I agree that SPM's story was the best if we're talking about main plot, but TTYD's side and backstories were far better.

I would like to point out that best does not necessarily equal more elaborate. SMB3's story, for instance, was only given in about as much detail as SS's, but it was interesting, a nice touch, and even funny when you get that letter from Bowser after beating World 7.
