Curse posted...It took off enough to have a spinoff, a sequel, and for Parappa to be playable in PlayStation All-Stars lolNotSSB.
And Crash Bandicoot had six sequels, three racing games, two party games, three GBA spinoffs and three mobile spinoffs and is slightly more known than the three game Parappa series but is still just as buried in obscurity as it is. Think about it, if a spot in a Smash Brothers rip off is the best thing that's happened for the series since it's last game released twelve years ago, it's flight after taking off was pretty short.
Again, I'm not saying it wasn't enjoyable, it was, but the franchise is pretty much dead and there's not really a fanbase that's marching for a revival, hence my original post in this topic.
