I can and will defend this game.

So what can you say about the cryptic puzzles, linear plot, or lack of story and characters?

Basically this, however I'd rather want TC himself to defend these issues for a good laugh.

As for the Hooktail boss, I didn't even though he HAD a weakness/badge until I already did 2 run-through when I was younger. Heck some kid had to tell me about the badge in order for me to spend longer searching for the badge than just beating the boss.

As for "spamming" overpowered badges, "Megasparkle Hammer" anyone? Then there's the whole "World Map" NSMB issue, but because your desperate attempt to defend this game, I'll let that one slide.

<.< TC better not say how this game didn't need a story/plot because it's on a handheld. Or worse about how the graphics makes up for all the things they took out in the series for this game. Heck it's next to impossible to defend any of the characters as well, because even Kamek was horrible in comparison to the witch in the first two (in virtually in every-way.) While I'm at it Kamek's whole half-hearted attempt to be "mysterious" was killed solely because he serves Bowser from beginning to end, he could have gone all Dinmento of us but nope.

Cryptic puzzles:...Yeah I'm not gonna type paragraphs about this for the (X) time, so I'm just gonna remind people about 2-2 (the last part),2-3,world 3 (just a pain overall, but an ex: Poison ponds having hard to see holes in them), and 4-3 (Garden Boo), probably the most common slip ups people tend to make (including myself on here.)

I never found the holes difficult to see, and the green Toad in 3-6 tells you about them anyway. I don't understand what the problem is with the end of 2-2. I do agree that 2-3 is confusing, but everything not on the main path is optional anyway, so it hardly matters - that one item that's sort of almost required is right next to the exit anyway. In 4-3, I also peeled the wall first, but didn't think to peel the next room's wall for a while, but eventually the clues fell into place. There's a stool against the wall there, which is perfectly positioned to allow you to get the badge. That's your clue there.

Two separate characters tell you about Hooktail's weakness, so if you didn't know about it, it's because you weren't paying attention. The dialogue with the second one is unskippable, and the first one is automatically triggered (but then can be skipped). So you were given plenty of clues, really.

Megasparkle Hammer is all well and good, but it takes up loads of space and only hits enemies close to its original target. It's not going to wipe the field clean, and it doesn't work against aerial enemies. There are better stickers to equip. Plus, it's annoying to get multiples of when you can just buy regular-sized stickers that kill everything all at once.

Kamek couldn't have done a Dimentio because it'd be out of character for him. Remember, these are already existing characters and Kamek has been Bowser's caretaker since childhood. If it was a new character, then maybe it'd be OK.

The World Map may not be something you like, but you must admit it gets you there quicker. Imagine having to walk through every level on the way if you get to the end of a world and find you need a Thing to progress. Would you prefer that?

1. Thank NSMB for that.

2. I got that on the first run.

3. "One use only," anybody? And why didn't anyone complain about SMRPG's world map?

4. Like I said before, thank NSMB for that. Can't argue with Kamek, though.

5. I had an (apparently) innate ability to actually be good at most of the puzzles (Can't argue with the Garden Boo, again), but I think Nintendo has higher expectations for people to be more observant, hence almost every part in NSMBU and PMSS.

Oh, Nintendo doesn't have expectations. Viewers Are Morons, remember? Look at Skyward Sword and then tell me Nintendo expects people to see things right in front of them.

I actually think this is a deliberate step in the opposite direction BECAUSE of the backlash regarding hand-holding. They wanted people to have actual experience of a game that doesn't tell you exactly where to go and what to do. The only thing is it seems that some people weren't ready for it.

6. In Chapter 4 of TTYD, I stared at the screen for about three minutes after the fake-out ending before I tried pressing A. I'm that thick.

LOL. I stared at the screen thinking that my game had a glitch in it, 'til I pressed A. After seeing that I freaked out at the genius of it impressed that Nintendo had swerved me. Just like the Regular Show episode "Do or Diaper."

TC I thought the game was fine except it was a little short. But answer me this: What do you say to the useLESSness of Kersti? Other than the final battle (if you chose to use her), she was a pain to listen to and annoying; at least Goombella was knowledgeable AND helped in battle.

Every series needs a Navi. M&L got Stuffwell and Starlow. Paper Mario got Kersti. Zelda got Navi, Elzo, Fi (SHUT UP, FI!), Tatl, Midna, and the King of Red Lions.
