Yes. Wouldn't you prefer a newer game to have DLC?

Obviously he wouldn't if this is his favorite Zelda. >_>

Ura Zelda 64DD became Master Quest. I'm not sure why there is confusion over that. I remember it in multiple sources when the Gamecube Master Quest was released. The Gamecube Master Quest is even called Zelda no Densetsu: Toki no Ocarina GC Ura in Japan.

While this is true, it's highly likely that it was a business angle that they used to pitch in fans of the series (especially considering it was initially released as a preorder bonus to begin with). Internal files of the Master Quest ROM and the GCN disc/emulator itself are telling in that there are no references to the 64DD add-on, and there's at least one Nintendo of Europe source saying that it was essentially an outsourced development (ie. maybe DIMPS or TOSE and certainly not close to Miyamoto). So there are conflicting statements, one in which Nintendo reps try to make the story look favorable to their end and one in which hackers have extrapolated potential hints at the truth (did you know that there's an "Ocarina of Time X" logo in the disc, even though the "Ura Zelda" label has been used for years?). Not to mention that there's no sign of Ura Zelda being ported from its original format.

It is most probable that Master Quest was simply handled discreetly by an anonymous studio, having access to debug functions and possibly usingleftover dungeons assets or design documents dating back to Ura Zelda 64DD.

This. THIS. IMO thats exactly what happened lol

Newer games have more possibilities.

Why would you want DLC off of a 14 year old game? Seriously?

More like why not?. would that have been a problem for you if there was some DLC for OOT3D?.

No. DLC would be new, regardless of whether it's put on an old game or not.

And...honestly? This is his favorite Zelda. Obviously he would want DLC for this game more than he would, for example, DLC for Skyward Sword. This hardly needs explaining.

I'll ask again. You mostly post here simply to say how "objectively" terrible this game is. Why?

There are other Zelda games besides OOT that I also like. The very original, A Link to the Past, Twilight Princess, & Skyward Sword. Hell, I grew up playing games like those starting back in the early 80's.

I'm just saying that having DLC off of a very old game is stupid. And I don't like DLC at all, period. I like full, complete games (you know, the way that it used to be before this gen was infected with this DLC, DRM, Online passes, etc. garbage).

I wouldn't mind a new game with DLC, as long as it doesn't go the ST/PH route.

DLC will still be of lesser quality.
