Plus, the Mayan's didn't have leap days. Doomsday happened 6 months ago. :)
You wake up in a forest and start punching trees. Minecraft FTW.

No, the Mayans had accounted for everything. They had a different system than we do now, and when converted, the last day landed on December 21.

Somebody did the glitch.
Here's a question
When was the last time you covered yourself in syrup and sacrificed a physically defected llama while performing a mating dance on a Tuesday?

And the start of the new long-count cycle would have begun on the 22nd. The end of the Mayans' long calendar cycle no more predicts the end of the earth than our calendar's year 3000 will.
There are many paths in life. Just because someone is not on yours does not mean he has lost his way.

We are a more advanced civilisation than the Mayans, and my calendar at home ends on the 31st of December, therefore that will be the end of the world.

The Mayans were just trolling and thought that in the event that the society of the world in 2012 was raised on gullible soup that it would be fun to create a huge hullabaloo.

However, several months ago a different Mayan calendar was discovered that extended thousands of years ahead of now.
