My journey through the Ancient City... (pics inside)

Ever since I first flew past it, I've always wanted to explore the ancient city. After countless attempts, I have finally found the entrance to the forgotten land. It is so beautiful I could spend hours just gazing at the scenery. Here's what I have to share:

Unfortunately, the magnificent sunset caused a lot of problems for my camera and a lot the more spectacular shots resulted in blurs of light and shadow.

Anyways, I'm off to find more unexplored lands...

Nice one!

Care to share where the entrance is then? And how you got to it?
We aren't people, we're text.

i think TC clips out of the map at the bottom by the altar. at least that's how i do it. i think you can jump over at the end of the final slide, but i like to climb up on those beams and hop out. you can teleport to the next level sans cutscene by wrapping around to the other side of the gate and walking up to it.
there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

I did it that way too - first climbing up the walls and beams, then straight by jumping from the final cliff. :) the ancient city is really amazing... so much work, such tiny details everywhere, as if they made it on purpose for people like us ;) especially the eastern side feels like a working city. the large capitol-like building of the western side is actually only half-intact, can only be seen from there. i actually walking the whole way until the beginning, wasn't easy. there are sooooooo many parts where you'll start sliding again, but most can be undone immediately. after i almost reached the start, i was stuck and needed to get back in the level, so i played it through again - was really weird to surf through the whole level without music :P

For those who want to know, here's how I got there.

Here's how I got out of the bridge stage. (there's been reports that the sandfall glitch does not work with the EU version. if it does not work for you then i guess you have to look elsewhere)

@faqbaka those images are really good, great way to show someone what they have to do!

After I've lead some random people to the ancient city today, I decided to take my own photo tour, hope you don't mind if i add some pics of mine here :)

Alright :) Here come some more:

This time from the East side of the city, but a bit further uphill. So many buildings. And every once in a while a star will visit you :)

BTW, did you find an exit to the snow level yet? I think you can get out right at the beginning by climbing on the left hand wall.

yes, I've been outside the snow area. I'm pretty sure someone has already posted about it. I've also gone outside of the area right after the surfing stage. The part with the tall growing cloths and afterwards on the part with the flying serpents. But that stage is pretty dark and there's not alot to see. It's also very easy to get stuck since you can't really tell where you're going.

I might try the tower stage next. I'm pretty sure there's not much outside but it could be fun to swim around in the open IF I can get to it.
