So the Familiars evolve? Or was the Familiar in the demo part 2 a reskin?

I noticed in part 2 of the demo, there was what seemed to be a reskin of the part 1 Familiar. Was that just a reskin? Or was it an evolved Familiar? And if so, how many evolutions per Familiar? Or does it vary?

I'm not sure about the Familar in the demo, but I do know that you can evolve your Imaginn. There are special items you can use to evolve them. Unfortunately, they locked us out of that feature in the demo, despite the fact you can get the evolution items as drops. I found quite a few of them during the Volcano portion of the Demo.

From what I understand, Familiars each have up to three forms that they can change to (and each character can have up to three Familiars at a time). I don't know if they actually call it 'evolving' in the game, but from what I read on other sites, it seems to essentially be the same thing.

It looks like you recruit them directly from enemies you fight in battle, so it seems like it's going to be alot like Pokemon in that regard (except the fact that you can freely move about the battlefield while selecting actions). Not sure HOW you recruit them though.

This is all stuff I've read on various sites, so some of the information might be incomplete.

Some also evolve into one Familiar or another depending on the 'path you choose' a lot like how some Pokemon only evolve into a certain one in sunny weather vs. rainy weather.

They don't let you actually do it in the demo, so it's hard to tell.

Yes the familiars do evolve and yes that was Mitey's evolution form here's a video of the book that shows and explains it a little bit.

After you reach a certain point in the game Maru (Esther in the English version) recieves a weapon that allows her to persuade enemies to join your team. In order for her to do that you have to defeat them in battle and there is a random chance a little heart will appear over their head. As soon as this heart appears, your imajins will stop attacking and you have a limited amount of time(shown as a circle above their head) to switch to Maru and use the command which is the initial one when you switch to her. You can just spam x at that point and it will tame the monster.

There is a tutorial ingame that explains it all and even allows you to pick one out of three imajin to keep. Also just as an fyi, some monsters can take forever to have the little heart appear. i.e. unripe babanas

In your party menu you can see the name of the Imajinn you have selected in the upper right corner. The name at the bottom is the nickname.

Note how it's not a Mitey, it's a Mighty Mite. So yes it's evolved.

@Shadowwolf: If you think Unripe Babanas are hard to catch, try some of the legitimately rare ones -_-

What happens if you catch more than three? Where do the extra one go if you can only have 3?
