It was either Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars or Final Fantasy VI. I can't really remember though.

Final Fantasy 1, I was probably around 7 or 8. It was my favorite game for years. That and Crystalis.....how I wish they would remake it.

Dragon Warrior - played through it with my dad. Wow, that was about a quarter of a century ago.

385 posts! Holy crap. I guess there were some older posters in here too. I liked seeing a lot of Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy 1 mentions. Final Fantasy VI works as well.

my first rpg was an online mmo called tibia..I'm sure none of you have ever heard of it... that was when i really got into rpgs.. (you all thought i was going to say final fantasy didnt you?)

I'm pretty sure that my first RPG was Quest 64. I have been playing since the NES days, and loved the Zelda series, but I don't really count them. So yes, Quest 64.

And since I didn't have another game to compare it too then, and I'm still kind of an open-minded guy, I liked it then and I like it now. It's not unplayable, it's just bare-bones and not very complex compared to... almost any other RPG. So I'm probably one of 20 people on the site who likes the game.

Zelda wasn't and isn't an RPG anyway. The entire series is an Action Adventure game.
