is this the new ff7?

On the other note, I'm pretty sure the closest thing to the FF7 of this gen (at least in terms of JRPGs) is Persona 4.

I'm sure 15 years from now people will complain that it's story was a load of *** too.

asking for a ni no kunni remake?

The way things have been going, I'm surprised it doesn't already have an HD remake.

Its topics like these that make FF7 more memorable and more loved than any other rpg. NO other topic of ANY other game could have stirred up such a hilarious pot of chaos on a gaming board... and it won't be the last one I'm sure.

Well I can count the number of AAA (Read: Not A or AA) console jrpgs of this generation on two fingers, Ni No Kuni and possibly Xenoblade (haven't personally played it). And if you have an HDTV, Xenoblade will look like FF7 unfortunately lol. Anyway if you look at the polish Ni No Kuni has, you don't get games like this often.

Er I'm pretty sure Xenoblades budget wasn't that high.

There can only be one that makes that sort of splash. Same reason why Mario 64 was the biggest deal ever in 96, and no 3D platformer since has had anything even close to that sort of impact.

FF7 was the very first JRPG to become immensely popular in the US, and that will never happen again. It's just not possible, we have decades of history proving this.

The only thing weve seen come close is how some of these FPSs have blown up into major franchises that dominate the gaming industry, like CoD, Halo...

For big splashes like that to happen, it has to be incredibly original. This game isnt. Almost everything in it has been taken from other sources. Plus just the fact that its a JRPG and most gamers these days couldnt care less about them, it doesnt matter how good the game actually is.

What did i say that was wrong ??

You can't quote a message that has offensive material in it. You can keep the "____ posted...", but if you keep the content with the TOS violation inside (In this case, his was toward the end of his post), then you can get modded. If they didn't mod you, then you'd be keeping the content around.

Pokemon is the only other RPG that made such a huge impact..

And it's STILL going strong, 15 years later........
