And if you have an HDTV, Xenoblade will look like FF7 unfortunately lol. Anyway if you look at the polish Ni No Kuni has, you don't get games like this often. |

trenkenPosted 1/29/2013 9:26:14 AM | There can only be one that makes that sort of splash. Same reason why Mario 64 was the biggest deal ever in 96, and no 3D platformer since has had anything even close to that sort of impact.
FF7 was the very first JRPG to become immensely popular in the US, and that will never happen again. It's just not possible, we have decades of history proving this.
The only thing weve seen come close is how some of these FPSs have blown up into major franchises that dominate the gaming industry, like CoD, Halo...
For big splashes like that to happen, it has to be incredibly original. This game isnt. Almost everything in it has been taken from other sources. Plus just the fact that its a JRPG and most gamers these days couldnt care less about them, it doesnt matter how good the game actually is.
