I'm not even close to beating this game but I'm wondering once I do what jrpg should I play? Something with a great story and a great cast of characters and a good battle system...not Pokemon...already got them all.

White Knight Chronicles 1/2
Trinity Universe
Cross Edge
Record of Agarest War 1/Zero/2
Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel
Last Rebellion
Atelier Rorona/Totori/Meruru (Ayesha soon)
Hyperdimension Neptunia/mk 2 and soon Victory
Resonance of Fate (probably just RPG)
Nier
Eternal Sonata
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny
Tales of Graces f
Tales of Xillia (soon)

All i can think of atm, well, all i own xD

Ugh...the majority of those games are absolutely horrendous. Last Rebellion? Really?

If you haven't played Xenoblade yet, go with that. It's up there with NNK as best JRPG of this generation. Otherwise, you'll have to enter the portable realm of gaming or settle with older RPGs. Because modern Japanese games are really, really, really bad for the most part.

Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk.
Closest JRPG release for NA.
And usually, the AA series has a very enjoyable cast of characters.
Story, average at best though...
At least the gameplay is fun, extremely fun due to the animation.

I care about you funding horrible games. XD Not really, but I do feel a bit bad for you if you paid full price for those "gems" lol. A couple of those on those list are playable, but the majority are so bad that I'd rather get punched in the face by Sylvester Stallone than be forced to play them. I'm not even kidding or exaggerating. At least my face would heal in a few days time. My mind would be permanently scarred if I had to play most of those for more than an hour.

Try the Dragon Quest series or Chrono Cross.
