When you equip Mite with Oliver, for example, the familiar gets 10% more to their stats and yes, it is explained.

A 10% increase to the familiar's stats that can be viewed when changing between a favored character and non-favored character.

Is it in the Wizard's companion? I must have missed them explaining it then

Is there any bonus to the familiar leveling up on the character with the stat bonus or is it just applied when they are given to the character to hold?

It's a add-on bonus whenever the familiar is equipped with the right person. They will still gain the same amount of stats per level up, compatible party member or not.

Also what are each character's 3 favorite genuses? I'm trying to figure it out but if someone could just tell me, I'd appreciate it

Press menu button, go to friends and familiars. Notice the three icons for the familiars there?

Go to the telling stone, creature compendium->look under genus to get an idea of what genus stand for what type of familiars.

I'd like to know as well :)

Also does the fourth character cover the rest of the genuses that Don't get stat bonuses?
Or are there familiars who will not get a bonus no matter what?
