Spent an hour trying to get a winter one for the guy's quest. No luck. Go to DDW to get the 1st form and have been for a half hour with no luck. Ughhhh

You have to trick the game into thinking that you don't really really want to catch a specific familiar. Otherwise it curses you to never be able to catch it.

That usually does seem to be the case, but I'm no good at getting what I want out of my head. :[

I finally got one but only after I got the final tier on rewards to boost my rate.

I guess I'll have to wait for that, then. It had been taking me so long that I went to a different part of the well to serenade a different creature just to make sure that it still worked. I had forgotten what that heart looked like. -_-
