Only DLCs are familiars. I dunno about US, but these are EU bonuses:
1. Golden Hurley - Available to all in EU. Strategy Guide exclusive in US. 2. Draggle - Available to all in EU. Not available in US at all. 3. Griffy - Pre-order Bonus in EU. 4. Flutterby [sp??] - Pre-order Bonus in EU.
Pre-order bonuses can still be got if buy it off PSN. --- [PSN:wreck_em] Borderlands 2: Maya-10, Zero-50, Axton-25, Sal-50

The non-gold version is currently EU exclusive DLC. To add to the list is the gold Mite and Drongo that was exclusive to the wizard edition.

Draggle is for the game being delayed.
Golden Hurly is probably due to lack of guides / delay with the release of the guides.
the other 2 are pre-order bonus's from various retailers just like the US but most (if not all in EU) give both Griff and Flut.
theres also a NNK theme that you can get on the PSN in EU free for playstation + members ^_^
