I just got access to the sea and i feel like he's getting hit too much. I come in for one combo and he just gets hit way too much. Is it because he's only level 24?

He is a good one for the main game, but post-game he is weaker than many other familiars due to lower stat maxes.

Feed it food to get +10-20 defense and with the high evasion you will not take nearly as much damage

you also may want to give him magic defense as well since magic is whats going to hurt him the most
