Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Sorry....i had to do it. Getting 5 of these is taking me back to the Demons Souls Pure Bladestone grind. Figured this topic would catch the attention of any poor souls spending a weekend on this item.....like myself.

Farming for me goes like this :
Right now i am farming the gold honky-tonky. Running back and forth in the tombstone trail cave. Basically, you keep running around hoping it spawns. For instance....first pass through, zombies and eggs are spawning. Run pass them all to end of cave and turn around for another run through to where you started. Back and forth over and over. New random enemies spawn. Most times you will see the same old enemies, but occasionally you will see the gold duck. Once you find it, you then need to steal from it, in hopes it gives the scroll. That's how farming is done in this game. Figure out which gold enemy drops the item you need.....figure out where it spawns....know if it need to be stolen, or can be dropped, or both.....then begin the run. I ended up getting 2 yesterday after a few hours of trying different gold mobs in different locations. The duck gave both, so i feel compelled to stay there for the last 3 needed. I readily admit that the BladeStone in demon souls was much more of a painful grind than this.

I disagree. Bladestones took me 8 hours to get just one. I have all 5 scrolls and all 5 kaliedoscopes and it only took me around 5 hours to get all of that.

Except that the gold honky tonker has a higher chance spawning in a fight with random mobs than being a random mob in the cave. Much faster just fighting those random battles than running back and forth for 10 minutes. You'll also get a lot of battles towards those 1k battles and 2k glims.

My Pure Bladestone farm was a complete nightmare. I spent 3 hours a day killing that dual katana skelly over and over. It was a solid 10+ days of doing that before the item dropped. I realize this will be nothing at all like that. It did however take me back to the constant board searches for the best way to obtain one/many. I should have my last 3 scrolls today......i hope.
