Is it worth training up the gold Mite and Drongo?

I'm assuming the gold dlc familiars level up and metamorph in the same manner as everyone else in the game (except for different stats apparently). My main question is, is there a big difference if I pick the gold familiars over the regular ones? I've heard the regular mite is worth keeping around until parts near the end game. Can someone please answer this question for me without spoiling anything for me?

I only just left the temple of trials btw

So you're saying with a Form1 Gold I can level it up all the way to 99 and then trigger metamorphoses?

If yes then it means gold form can have much higher max stats than non golden ones. Might be interesting exercise to compare stats of golden morphed at Level99 vs non-golden morphed at level cap.

Didn't know that...That will definitely make the Gold versions more powerful if all forms are maxed.
