One thing that's been bothering me...

Why is Oliver allowed to bet at the casino? I mean, the kid is underage. Barely old enough to drink or drive a car. Yet he's able to play Slots, Platoon, and Blackjack with no problem whatsoever. No one cares.

What gives?

Because Oliver is a bad*** and can do what he wants? Or maybe because it's an entirely different world he's in with different rules?

Well, no one gives a **** about sending this kid off to face a powerful sorcerer, so he might as well start early while he has the chance.

Or Swaine does all the gambling.

If u paid attention to the story you would have learned that they think Oliver and his party are now members of the undead. I doubt age matters much to the ageless living dead.

Your also putting earthly rules onto a parallel universe. They probably don't have gambling laws in that world.

Fantasy expert wizard children are exempt from gambling age restrictions. Don't want them throwing tantrums and casting Astra on the employees.

Well..everyone else in there is dead. Who cares about laws?

They also believe Oliver to be dead (though their burden of proof was rather low). Finally, they met him 10 years ago+? He would be of legal age now, if they assume he could not time travel.
