I,m a huge jRPG fan and this game seems absolutely perfect. Its just that the main character is so young! Should I try to overlook this and just get the damn game? Will it be too childish for someone who loves Final fantasy, breath of fire, tales of games....?

well the main character for pokemon up until gen 4 was around 10-14

In Tales of Graces f, you play a large part of the first few hours of the game as children.

I was in the same situation as you. While I do prefer more "mature" oriented RPGS, I am having a good time with this one. Yes, the main character is a child, but the game doesn't venture too much into "childish" territory, in my opinion.

Everything is more "light-hearted" compared to many RPGS...no blood, dismemberment, profanity...but you may still enjoy it since you seem to be a big RPG fan. If in doubt, you could always rent it to give it a try before you drop $60 on it. Hope that helps.

And Tales usually has teenage characters, though young ones in the likes of Anise, Karol and various others.
I see no reason why you wouldn't like this, Oliver and most of the other party members are young, but they aren't annoyingly young like some Tales characters.

I don't know why the childish element poses such a problem for you guys :P, the game is beautiful, has one of the most gorgeous open worlds I have ever seen, and the graphics are awesome. I'm enjoying every second of it.

Also, Oliver's pretty mature for his age.

Has no one ever played Earthbound? Do you call that kiddy? It stars children, but it is NOT a kiddy game... sometimes it even makes it better. It feels more tragic or compelling when a youth has to take up a dangerous journey.

The story and characters are lighthearted man, which turns some people off. But I have had more fun with this game than any other RPG in a decade or more, so take from that what you will.

Woah, woah, woah. No profanity? What about *SPOILERS*

In Castaway Cove when Esther gets her swimsuit and Drippy is like "jaw-drop" Eh, tidy. Check out the goods on there, mate. There's gorgeous, she is." And she's like...5 years old. Lulz.
