Would you play NNK, if no monster hunting were involved?

I am just curious how many of you are either not playing this jrpg or just not too fond of it because you have to spend some time taming familiars or hunting for them? Maybe you wish your human party members are stronger or far more useful than the familiars?

I'd still be playing this if there was no taming involved. I just look at the taming as a bonus.

Yeah I'd still play it.

Yes, definitely!

They'd have to tone up the damage of the main characters and some such.

But yes I'd play it. The main characters are actually quite good in battle if you look at them and their skills.

When I play games where I chose a class (class based games, or MMOs for instance), I usually go for the Bard type (Esther) or the Rogue/Thief Support type (Swaine).

Probably not, its what caught my attention and made me want to check it out.

The wide variety of familiars available to catch and evolve go a long way to compensate for what is a somewhat lacking battle-system.
The game would be really dull without the taming aspect.
I might have still been interested in it, but I would certainly have thought much, much less of the game.

There would definitely need to be some compensating factors with the battle system, but yeah. The world, art style, and music are all compelling in their own right.

I never understand these questions.

"Would you play this game even if it wasn't this game?!"

That's honestly what I see.
