| I feel less about it, honestly. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, definitely worth $60, and I still want to wrap up the remaining post-game bounties to see the post-game ending after I'm done with Fire Emblem (which I don't think will be any time soon <_>). But I don't think it excelled at anything for me, if that makes sense.
Some music is pretty good, but the soundtrack in general is just eh. The story is simple and I liked the twists it did proffer up, but it didn't grip me. The only character I was really in love with was Drippy, and that was more for his accent than anything else. The battle system was fun, but I didn't really love it or anything. It wasn't enjoyable just to fight things for the sake of fighting some more. I LOVE the familiar aspect, and I didn't mind the low % of them, it was rewarding when I got the one I was going for, but it would have been nice to have the morphed versions have more variety in appearance.
It's always nice to get into an oldschool style JRPG again, though I also love modern ones, though. It's still a really good game. ^_^ --- Not removing this sig until Bravely Default:Flying Fairy is localized. http://i.imgur.com/atFfl36.png |
| I feel the hype is still going. When did it die down?..... |

| I played this game probably an average of 8 hours a day for the past 2 weeks. IMO, it's one of the very best games this gen. I'd put it 3rd on my list after Red Dead and Dark Souls. Story, acting, gameplay, visuals, music -- all A+ IMO. |

| From: Drakemood | #003stop reading. Why should I have to stop doing one of my favorite pastimes just because you don't like an opinion I hold? From: coydog_30 | #004I'm still playing it while I wait on my FE 3DS to arrive:( I heard they shipped out now. :D Soon! I initially pre-ordered a bundle but I changed my mind along with the shipping issues and kept my current 3DS and hauled ass to the Eshop the second it went up. --- Not removing this sig until Bravely Default:Flying Fairy is localized. http://i.imgur.com/atFfl36.png |
| I'm enjoying it. It's the best old school RPG I have played on this generation of console. Granted the number of old school RPGs on PS3 is a bit anemic, NNK is still a good game.
I would have loved a single button defense option as some of the windows for defending are too short or are short enough that you have to decide between defending yourself or your party. I also feel that had they forgone the Defense/Attack modes, they could have made the combat more satisfying.
I also enjoy seeing my gear upgrades represented on my characters.
Those are the only two things that have been cons for me, though both are relatively minor.
The game did make me really want a new FF title done in an old school fashion. |
