Leanaunfurled posted...I feel less about it, honestly. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, definitely worth $60, and I still want to wrap up the remaining post-game bounties to see the post-game ending after I'm done with Fire Emblem (which I don't think will be any time soon <_>). But I don't think it excelled at anything for me, if that makes sense.
Some music is pretty good, but the soundtrack in general is just eh. The story is simple and I liked the twists it did proffer up, but it didn't grip me. The only character I was really in love with was Drippy, and that was more for his accent than anything else. The battle system was fun, but I didn't really love it or anything. It wasn't enjoyable just to fight things for the sake of fighting some more. I LOVE the familiar aspect, and I didn't mind the low % of them, it was rewarding when I got the one I was going for, but it would have been nice to have the morphed versions have more variety in appearance.
It's always nice to get into an oldschool style JRPG again, though I also love modern ones, though. It's still a really good game. ^_^
I was never really hyped for this game as I haven't been a fan of JRPGs. Needless to say NNK has sparked my interest in JRPG's once more and now I am going back to games I had missed.
NNK has won me over.
