Why does Firefry have to be a limited time encounter? (spoilers)

Man I hate when they do that. So he is the only source for Hocus Focus Gems and if you need them for familiar building purposes after a certain point and run out of them, you're screwed.

I know this may not be that likely to happen but I still hate this sort of time restriction.

Are there any other enemies that stop disappearing and have unique rare items of that kind?

I feel your pain.

I say just farm 12 of them, that way, for whatever reason, you want each familiar in your entire party to have the skill; you can.

The area you find them in reopens post clear for a quest, and stays open afterward. So technically they aren't that limited. Just kind of.

I didn't encounter any more of Fire Fry once I clear Nevermore. Did you bump into them postgame?

No, technically the Miasma Marsh re-opens later, but the Road to Ruin which leads to it is where they are located, and is locked out after you clear the Marsh and beyond.

Hmmm. Ok. My mistake then. I agree that that is pretty lame.
