Getting a new Mite... worth it?

I hear that overall the Mite is rather weak. Though he seems to perform wonderfully for most of the game.
Would it be worthwhile to build up a fresh Mite so that he doesn't suffer the stat loss from the forced evolution the first one gets?

From what i have heard it won't make much of a difference. He is still statistically one of the weakest characters.

For him, the Gate will open.

Personally, no. Once I got my Purrloiner and Naja I just left Mite at the retreat.(except for a certain mid-game boss.

It depends on how you define worth.

Suggestion: Play with whatever familiars you feel like using because you want to and for no other reason. If your combination doesn't work out, try something else.

No matter what, Mite is going to be a fairly weak familiar by end-game. Only reason to get a new one is if you want his level 50 trick from the first form.

This. The game is so much less fun if you focus too much on stats and which familiars are "the best". Just get the ones you like and roll with it. If you want another Mite, it's worth it to catch one.

I grabbed 2 more to max out (one for each evolve). For me, worth it. Compared to some other familiars, does Mite hold his own? Nope.

Maybe get a double signed or whatever rare sign he has to make him more viable later on.
