Medixx or Angelixx? (Relixx evolutions)

#1KarsticlesPosted 2/9/2013 3:45:22 PM
Medixx skills:
Healing Rain
Water Cannon
Shower Curtain
???

Angelixx skills:
Wind Tunnel
Healthy Glow
Twinkle Twinkle
???

Shower Curtain is pretty great, but Healing Rain can be taught through a gem, so I'm not putting too much value into it. I plan to keep using my Strongo, but his evolution choices are semi-inversions of Electrixx's:

Electrongo:
1 Thunderspark (Storm)
10 Healthy Glow (Heal)
11 Water Bomb (Water)
22 Thunderbolt (Storm)
30 Waterspout (Water)
40 Enlighten (Support)
51 Dropsicle (Water)
63 Light of Life (Heal)

Fluorongo:
1 Thunderspark (Storm)
10 Healthy Glow (Heal)
16 Short Circuit (Storm)
23 Rise and Shine (Heal)
31 Ray of Life (Heal)
40 Twinkle Twinkle (Light)
48 Wind Tunnel (Storm)
58 Lease of Life (Heal)

So, Fluorongo + Angelixx seems pointless, since they both use Wind Tunnel and Twinkle Twinkle. Electrongo + Medixx seems pointless, since they both gain an AoE water attack (though Electrongo's is better).

So, when it comes down to it, the final skill(s) for Angelixx and Medixx are my decision-makers. Does anyone know what those are so I can finish figuring my team out?

Then I just have to figure out Swaine's last familiar, and my team is set and happy!

Depend who else you use. Don't forget there's a +10% stats for using familiar with the right party member. Having 2 spell caster on the same person is very redundant.

Certainly. I just want to know what the skills are so I can make an informed decision.

My team right now:

Oliver:
Splatterhorn (tank/healing)
Dinoceros (tank/damage)
Relixx (caster)

Esther:
Spanglerfish (damage)
Strongo (damage)
Lotus Bubbud (healing)

Swaine:
Bone Baron (damage)
Phantasma (damage/buffs)
???

I haven't decided on Swaine's third party member. Ideally the character uses claws, helmets, and has the "defend" skill, but that's a lot of stuff going on in one familiar...

I like Angelixx more in general and he has better magic attacks IIRC

Anyway...

Clinketyclank uses claws and helmets and meets Swaines genuses even. I'm just not sure how good he is, and he seems like he might be a spell caster. Haven't used him.

...and he doesn't have Defend or Evade either so that might put a damper on things for sure.

I think Clinketyclank is BA, but you hit the nail on the head there. Giving Swaine 3 Psych Up familiars seems like a recipe for destruction.

Basically, I have mixed feelings on three things right now:

Claws:
There are horns, and there are claws. It seems like horns are all about damage, and claws are all about status effects. I would like to have a character who uses claws and has a crazy attack rate to switch off with my Bone Baron for damage and disablement. It's a minor issue to me, though.

Helmets:
I have plenty of shield users, and plenty of users of all the armor types. No one uses helmets though, and I just got a nice one (Swine Helmet) that alerted me to this oddity. I don't like having a whole field of armor unrepresented in my party, because it usually means other armor types are getting overused and thus some characters are wearing inferior gear.

Defense:
I totally love my Bone Baron, and Phantasma is pretty good. She covers dark and fire element attacks and has Sharpener, which I value a lot on my team because it means other characters don't need to waste time using War Cry. Leech is an interesting move that seems to do around 60 damage, which isn't great, but I'm hoping I can get it to a more respectable number.

Anyway, both of Swaine's familiars use Psych Up, so it makes sense that I should work on getting him a familiar with the Defend skill to survive big boss attacks. This is definitely the most important thing among my considerations.

Fourthly, and small enough to not bold it, I'd like to have that 10% stat bonus going on. It's good stuff!

There is actually one familiar that fits all of my criteria, but...oh man, this thing is not my style, to put it in a nice way...

Edit: Angelixx/Electrongo is looking like the superior combination.

I wish I could get a screenshot of Angelixx, or a video. The above video only has Medixx (and it looks cool). Angelixx is also nice because he has Light resistance, which none of my other familiars have.

Honestly, you're looking too much into things. It's really not a big deal as this game is very forgiving in whatever path you do choose with whatever familiar you want. Choose whatever one you like the most and don't look back. You'll destroy every boss you come across anyway, you really don't need this much planning

It's not about winning/losing, it's about having a team of characters I like that are versatile. Yeah, I could have a team of Catastroceri and just stomp everything, but that's not very enjoyable for me. Making a coherent team that works together is the funnest part of the game for me.
