Just got Swaine, should I keep his Hurly on him?

He doesn't even match his favorite genus. Right now I have Swaine equipped with Hurly, Bonehead, and Monolith.

Should I keep the Hurly or replace with something else?

Notable option would be the Dumbelemur from the beginning of the game, as that agrees with is genus types. There is also the Sprout Sprite or Lagoon Naiad for extra magic/healing if need be.

I would replace it with Thumbelemur and give Hurly to Oliver for now. Matches genus.
When you're able to get a Girlfield, give it Swaine and you would have a good set up with tank, physical, caster.

Hurly is garbage no matter who you put him on. Super slow and **** defense.

I recommend some kind of caster for Swaine since he doesn't rely much on MP by himself and it will often go to waste.

I've kept my Thumblemur (now Aye-Aye-Catcher) on him since I got him, and he rocks it with the little guy. I dumped Hurly after my first or second fight, he was just too slow and inaccurate for me. Right now I have him set up with a Bone Baron, the Catcher, and I switch off between a Castaceros (I don't think I spelled that right) and a Hyperboar.

Apparently Hurlabaloo has like the 3rd highest attack in the game maxed out, but he's just too slow.
