I've got something to say about this game

After playing it for about 25 hours or so I've come to realize how much "BS" these forums and others reviews can be sometime. I mean, I read before playing the game it had crappy story and kiddy like feel to it. If this game has crappy story and kiddy feeling, then I don't know what to call games like Grandia, Suikoden, Kingdom Hearts,Star Ocean, Dragon Quest, Rogue Galaxy, Breath of Fire, Chrono Cross/Trigger, Lunar, Alundra, and finally Megaman Legends, because all of those game feature kids out to save the world. The story isn't mature but to me it is still great, haven't finished though, just got to the dragon so I guess I got a lot left but this world is so rich of story and it's enjoyable, I don't understand what people are expecting from it to be honest, oh well... just felt like sharing all that.

The only people that call this game's story kiddy, are trolls or don't know what kiddy means. So that's what that was all about ;-)

It's the Internet. Nobody's ever satisfied with anything. Then you gotta factor in how serious and overdone the typical JRPG story can be, the "I only play mature games for mature gamers like myself" types, and the people who still idolize the Dragon Quest series as the end all be all of JRPGs.

To be fair, "kiddy" is applied rather liberally these days and doesn't have to mean that adults can't enjoy it.

But it doesn't do this game justice to give it a comparable adjective to Barney.

With new and hyped up games come waves of hyped up trolls.

The only people that feel that it's too kiddy, are teenagers who are obsessed with appearing to be older than they are.

I've never heard the story criticized much. I felt it was one of the real strengths of the game.

It being "Kiddy" isn't a knock against the game. It's a style, that's all it is, and some people don't like games with a kiddy style, or would prefer if the game was done in a different style.

I'd also argue that it being a kiddy game has nothing to do with the age of the protagonist, but rather with the themes and content, and the way they're presented. I'd also argue that a lot of the games you posted as being "Kiddy" aren't actually done in a kiddy style.
I sometimes feel as though life is a curse that has been placed on the living. I envy the unborn at times.

^^ If kiddy isn't a dig at the game, then why would obvious trolls like that word so much?

I think I've said this in another post a while ago, but not a lot of games have the gumption to portray a somewhat realistic death of a parent completely onscreen. NNK's art style may look like a game for very young kids, but for any parent playing this in front of kids who don't understand the concept of death yet, good luck!
