Best game - Ni No Kuni or Grandia II?

Grandia II is one of my all time favorite games. I loved everything about this game, one think that I particulary liked was that whenever you heard voice acting, it was very satisfying, since you really felt you progressed in the storyline. I don't know if you get the same feeling with this game? Are they in any way similar and which is the better game? I know Grandia II is an old game, but still?

I actually preferred Grandia over Grandia 2, then again I have no memory of Grandia 2 so that's probably why. I now want to get a copy of Grandia to play as well as Legend of Legaia and...don't have time for them now and enough with the nostalgia.

I couldn't really compare the two games against each other anyway not without replaying Grandia 2. If I tried it'd just be clouded by nostalgia and as I said already I always think of the first game rather than the second.

Grandia 2 for storyline and characters. Ni No Kuni for gameplay and explorability. One of the worst things about Grandia games was the complete inability to backtrack. That alone makes me favor Ni no Kuni a bit higher overall.

agree with most games except for xenogears,,,, it had the worst 2nd disk and ending of any game i have ever played and was good up to that point. Honestly most star oceans and dragon quests i like more but this is a solid ass game in a time where there arent many around like this anymore

I loved Grandia II, but I wont ever compare it to any other game. I play as I go and move on after I am done with the game. If I keep comparing games I liked to certain games that are ok or a waste of my money, I'll just be mad at myself. And ofcourse posting on here about it would just offend/annoy/piss people off LOL.

Good thing I really really like Ni no Kuni.
