Good Casino Stories? (Spoilers, i guess?)

I've been hanging out at the casino for about an hour now, its my first time here and already I've been up and down the entire time. I started off with 50 chips and I'm up to 2,000 through playing blackjack.

Anybody have some crazy wins/losses through the casino? I can only imagine how high the stakes have gotten for some people.

i was close to winning 100,000 chips in black jack had a hand of 18 and the dealer kept drawing cards and had like 7 cards(all low values) and got blackjack, I just laughed

I thought I was doing well at blackjack with 150,000 chips after a 6-game streak.. Then it turns out the whole world was raking in over 1,000,000 chips playing Platoon for 10 minutes..

.. Now I'm doing the same thing so it's actually lost its appeal. =/

My story with the casino is fairly brief. I tried out each game once, and realized Platoon was the most consistent and then figured out the best way to deal with the computer. I quickly won two sets of matches and found myself with over two million chips. I haven't been in there since except to get the tickets for the cutscene viewer and to trade for a bunch of medals so I could sell them and get over half a million guilders.

The blackjack is terrible, you can't even double down or split. I always wonder when they put casino games in video games why they make the odds so poor—it's not like we want to play a game where the house beats our pants off. If it were fun you'd get dealt an abnormally high amount of blackjacks or something. At least this game gives you a way to make an insane amount of chips if you want them.

I've got one to make y'all laugh.

So I read the Platoon guide here from top to bottom, left it open for reference, and hit the casino. Got my 1000 chips to start, sat down to Platoon, head spinning with the thought of getting hundreds of thousands of chips in a single game like so many before me.

My first hand I got a Bishop, a Wizard, and nothing else higher than a 7. Well, of course I lost that game! So I sit down again, sure the odds will be with me this time. Won my first round against that smarmy dealer, and the very next hand she wiped me out. And so it continued. In about a dozen or so games, I made it -once- to the sixth and final hand, and was trounced by her three Kings. Not once did I win a six-hand game.

Fuming and contemplating printing out the Platoon guide for the sole purpose of shredding it, I realized I was in post-game, and had more guilder than I could ever use. So yay being able to buy as many chips as you want!

Mine's actually a pretty awesome, and then equally terrible, story.

So I went into the Casino for the first time, bought 1000 chips, and followed the advice of the Platoon Guide, as well as another post on this board. I went 6 rounds with the dealer, and won every one of them. Came away with about 96,000 chips. I came back, and proceeded to play several more times, each time winning 6 rounds against the dealer, until I had roughly 630,000 chips.

....I haven't won a single round since.

The Platoon guide is completely unnecessary. Just read the rules. It's a fairly simple game, once you understand the rules and develop some basic tactics you can win really big pretty easily.

It still depends a lot on your hands and the usefull part of the guide for me was the last part where he explain the AI mechanism. If you understand that and understand the rules, you're pretty much set.
