Is the Tokotoko hard to tame?

I was just grinding by Perdida and found 2 Tokotokos (and one monster I cannot recall)
and I tried to kill them as fast as I could.
When one of them died, it showed the tame heart, but I wasn't paying attention because I set my sights on the next Toko, and Mite hit it and it died.

Is that a rare chance that I just missed of taming a Tokotoko?

They're rare, but if you really want to raise a Tokotoko, it'd be better to start from scratch with a Toko.

well the fun thing is when i was trying to catch me a auroralynx i had over 3 tame chances of the tokotoko before i had a tame oppertunity for the lynx -_-

Ehh not really. Taming familiars seriously just depends on your luck. Tokotokos have a 1.6% chance of being tamed/recruited. On the other hand I've tamed 7 tokotokos very easily. They just seemed to love Esther and wanted to join badly. Whereas I've had a TERRIBLE time with trying to recruit familiars that have much higher recruitment rates. Even with the merit card reward that boosts that recruitment rate of all familiars by 20%, tokotokos join me all the time whereas every other familiar doesn't seem to want to ever. This game just likes to troll me.

My game trolls me too. Likes to have me grind to lvl 80 in Billy Goats Gruff because IT KNOWS I WANT AN AURORALYNX MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THE WORLD.
