do you think they will make a NnK 2 considering how many copies it sold?

The franchise sold 1.4 Million, and most of those were the DS Release in Japan. The PS3 version of NNK only sold about...200,000 worldwide.

I love too, how in that article, they qualify the statement it "Reached an amazing number of sales..." by adding "...for a JRPG".

Which at the very least makes me think they were happy with the sales numbers. But who knows, because to be honest with you, 1.4 Million sales doesn't seem all that impressive in the modern gaming market. 20 years ago that would have been something, hell even 10 years ago it would have still been fairly cool, but today, even complete trash sells over a million copies.

I'd be extremely surprised if it did get a sequel, if it was released on a console. It'll probably be a handheld release if it does get a sequel.

Don't think so. Level 5 should make another RPG, not anything to do with NNK.

Level 5 is a "for profit organization", just like any other company out there, so if there's an indication that there is profit to be made then they will pursue it. Their target was 1.4M and that target was reached, so my guess is they will go ahead and make a sequel.

It's the same formula for Hollywood movies, they keep making sequels till they flop. So why not with video games as well.

This is an objective way of looking at things, not the usual "Oh I hate this game, they should have never made it and is a terrible idea to make a sequel" rant.

I don't think that information is correct, at least it's not what it says here:

For those that don't want to open the above link, it basically says that the PS3 version shipped about 1.1 million worldwide, and the total go up to 1.7 million considering the DS version, so it seems it's the other way around, most sales come from PS3 version.

My information was out of date, I was going off of information from back in September, so that's new data that I wasn't privvy to at the time of my post.

Level 5 CEO confirmed last year that they were working on a PS4 exclusive RPG.
Hopefully it's a new IP, I mean I love this game, but I'm always more excited for new IPs.
