Mage setup

I'm talking for damage-dealing magic users like Shama, Wicce, Lich, etc. What's the most effective equipment setup? Are two wands better than a wand and balder shield+1? I read that Sorcerer's Robe+1 is better than elemental robes as well.

I am not using any wand at two hands at least by the moment, but I have not farmed too much.
Probably the setups of this guy are good enough, but they must be hard of find, arenīt they great?

For sherri I have 2 earth wands, robes of the earth, dust choker, earthen greaves. She does 400 with vulcan lance, and around 600-700 with earthquake I.

Those numbers are highly dependent on the enemy's defense value. Augment items seem to give a much weaker bonus than INT & MIND boosts do, so it's often better to go with a Wizard's Hat +1. Sorcerer's Robe +1 is also good, but I prefer to use the slot for any kind of mobility footwear: Cloud, Sidhe or Winged. Mages are slow, so they need help overcoming obstables.
The exception to the augment rule is elemental chokers from the Jewelry III book, which seem to give a huge +40% damage boost.

So, in order of importance:
Choker > Mobility item > INT & MIND > Augment [element]
