Wait until Tekken does it. Customization has been big since Tekken 5 and made bigger in Tekken 6. Wait until Tekken starts selling costumes and cosmetic items and see how these hypocrites back peddle. Its hard to be mad at Capcom when another fighting dev does the same thing and no one cares. This topic changed the way I see these DLC complainers now. I was already aggressive before in debating with them but now I see them as just pathetic and probly wont even bother when the next batch of complaint topics pop up. The reaction here is why the DLC problem will never change. How can it change when some gamers are inconsistent in their online rages. Truly ridiculous. If Sega had went under and Capcom bought VF and was releasing this VF5:FS with all this cut content from a 4 or 5 year old finished game, you know damn well this and ever Capcom board would be on fire with trolls. Take out Sega and just put Capcom in place and Capcom would be dragged in the mud for this.
One question does the dlc items for Virtua Fighter Final Showdown meant for Xbox360 and not PS3 or both.

Take out Sega and just put Capcom in place and Capcom would be dragged in the mud for this. Except the Producer even said that the only reason some things were cut from VF5:FS was because the file size was getting too big. Apparently 20GB is the maximum size of a single file that Sony allow on the PSN store. At least this is a valid reason. Capcom just cut things from the game because they can. Everytime I read one of your posts it's just utter PR bullcrap. Do you have shares at Capcom or something? Because you sure seem persistent to defend them to the grave and somehow make it out asthough other fighting games have equally as much problems. Of course TTT2 will sell customization eventually because there's always room for more no matter how much they put in the game from the start and at least none of that DLC will be on-disc. TTT2 will have more content than any other fighting game and for half the price even VF:FS will have as much if not more content than SFxT, so I don't see how you can even begin to compare what Capcom has done with what either of those two games is doing. All TTT2/VF5:FS DLC has no effect on the gameplay, mechanics or general fundamentals. Capcom's problem is that they're incapable of admitting their mistakes. When MML3 was cancelled they blamed it on the fans. UMvC3's existence was blamed on the disaster in Japan. When the latest version of Sengoku Basara wasn't brought outside of Japan they blamed it on the fans. When they messed up the 360's online co-op, they tried to save face by making up the BS that "We never planned to have online co-op on the 360 version in the first place". Capcom can maybe begin to fight back against some of this hatred and infamy if they could just first admit their mistakes. I personally I don't care about the way that DLC is handled, not even day-1 DLC. In fact, the only thing that annoyed me about Capcom's SFxT colour/character DLC is that they expect me to wait so long for it. My real problem is that other people do care about things like on-disc DLC, a lot of people, so it makes the game look bad and damages the community. The less people buy the game the less opponents there is for me to face. Capcom's infamy indirectly affects the community of their games. --- TTT2: Dragunov, Marduk, Ogre, Jinpachi, Alisa.

Hopefully, once those 3 games come out, you and the people like you will be too busy playing them to make threads like these OP. I can tell you one thing, I cannot stand 3D fighters(I tried so hard in the past and could never get into them), but I don't spend my free time on the VF/DOA/TTT2 boards bashing these games, and promoting Capcom ones. And, if those 3 games are played mostly by people with your attitude, I won't even bother to try them and give them a 2nd chance. If you are a fan of VF/DOA/TTT2, you're doing a horrible job of promoting them within the fighting game community.

And why is it understandable when one producer tries to give an excuse for DLC but "PR BS" when another does the same thing? Because maybe there is no valid excuse for Capcom's method of SFxT DLC? At least none of the reasons they've gave have been sensible. VF5:FS not being allowed to go over 20GB is a legit reason. It's not their fault that Sony has such rules on downloads. Why would they give you the missing costumes for free? Do you realise how many costumes were removed? The files size would be so huge. It costs a lot to put up files on the PSN store when they're large, as the Producer of Skullgirls has even once said. If it was just a hundred outfits or more than that would be fine, but 500+ outfits? That's one huge file. At the end of the day what VF5:FS is doing is not even close to what Capcom have done. SFxT is a full priced game, whereas VF5:FS is half the price of a game. Sega have even stated that even if you were to buy all the DLC costumes the price of the game would still be cheaper than a full-priced game. Even if you don't buy the costumes, the game still gives you hundreds and hundreds of items from the starts, more than anyone would probably ever need and none of it affects the gameplay. Capcom couldn't even give you a measly costume without charging for it. It costs a fortune to buy all those preset SFxT costumes if you want them, even though it's barely costing Capcom a penny to put those on the store because 99% of the data is already on-disc, but a single VF5:FS costume pack will give you way more than that for around the same price and these are parts that you can't mix 'n' match and they aren't on-disc so it's costing the devs to put several hundred items on the store. --- TTT2: Dragunov, Marduk, Ogre, Jinpachi, Alisa.

LitchiFayeLing posted... Whatever you say, bro. Don't make an argument expecting me to read it if you're going to play ignorant and dismiss my argument so easily. You're comparing on-disc characters and gems that affect the gameplay of a £40 game to the DLC gimmick outfits of a £20 downloadable title. There's hardly any argument that you can make that can legitimately compare the scale of the issue of the two games. SFxT had massive standards to live up to that Capcom failed to even scratch the surface of. It's a cheap game with quality content. Content-wise the only thing that SFxT has over VF5:FS is co-op and the roster count. --- TTT2: Dragunov, Marduk, Ogre, Jinpachi, Alisa.
Except the Producer even said that the only reason some things were cut from VF5:FS was because the file size was getting too big. Yeah Capcom said something similar about not wanting to force a huge download, so they put everything on the disc. Regardless if file size is a problem why not let people download the items for free like so many claim Capcom should do? |
