Well, SFxT at WNF just lost all hype

Starting next week, there's no more 2v2. That was by far the most entertaining part of the game.

2v2 is clearly one of the most amazing parts of the game, there's so few other fighting games with legitimate co-op. Mr Wizard (the organizer of EVO) may dislike the game, but he definitely made the right call in making it 2v2 for EVO.

The best thing about having SFxT be 2v2 at evo is the inevitable drama that's going to follow.

Exactly! It made WNF so entertaining. I can't wait for EVO.

That being said I do think it is a legitimately great feature in the game as well.

It is, absolutely.
I just don't really think its a mode suited for something as big as EVO. You almost have to be a mind reader to really know when your partner wants you to tag in.

I dunno, I find just watching it that I can usually tell when someone wants out.

Also, I think team competition is also a potentially interesting form of competition that hasn't really been explored in the FGC. Like many of these players are extremely competent on their own, but how well can they work with another person? I'm curious to see how, say, Daigo will perform in 2v2.

I just hope some dudes get up and start fist fighting cause one of them screwed the other out of top 8 or something.

At EVO? I can definitely see that happening. Expect significant blowups.

And then the drama turns into a high stakes money match followed by a rivalry!

SFXT has the potential to be the most entertaining game at evo!

"The more the merrier" is always the way for me, it's why I love fighting games like SSB so much.

I just hope people won't totally abandon 2v2 (or this game entirely) after EVO. It really is quite entertaining.
