| JavidSangra Posted 2/5/2008 4:58:41 AM | Secret Mission 01: Just use Buster grabs. Two on each demon will finish them off. Secret Mission 02: Use the High Roller to launch you and an enemy into the air. Now keep tapping O. The trick is to press and release r accordingly. Hold it to drag a new victim up to you and let go to do the Buster. Repeat this to succeed. Secret Mission 03: Do this after mission eight when you have the Aegis Shield. Pick up one of the demons and hold O to use them as a human shield. Now lock on to the Frost and taunt him with v; any attacks he does will be blocked and you’ll earn Style for your taunt. When your demon dies, quickly grab the other one the same way and continue taunting and blocking until your rank reaches a C grade. Secret Mission 04: Hold L when the Devil Arm glows brightest. I found orbs by the door behind where you start, on the altar and in behind the mirror you smash on the right-hand balcony. Secret Mission 05: Use the two grapples after the first launch to reach the second and repeat to reach the third. Now break the gates around the fourth pad with your sword. For the fifth pad, use the grapple to land on the outer balcony, then turn around and use the grapple again. Secret Mission 06: This is stupidly easy when you know how. Pick up the demon by holding O (the shield move). Now jump to avoid the Chimera Seeds and take him to a safe place (up the stairs to the church for instance). Drop him and return to the field to grab each of the Chimera Seeds one by one, killing them instantly. Secret Mission 07: You’ll need some luck here. First of all, get to know the route of the panels. They progress to the right, then back to the left as stepping stones, and then back to the right to the finish (from the perspective of where you start). Now for the Mephisto. Lock on to one of them at all times, preferably one that keeps all of them in view, and repeatedly grapple their robes. Then it’s just a case of double jumping (with the Air Hike ability) at the right moment to avoid their attacks. The gold spear can hit you when on the ground and you won’t fall off. The robe slash, razor robe and dashing slash however, must be evaded. When you do de-robe one, change targets by jumping and locking on again (there’s no point killing them, they just come back). You could also try picking one up by holding O as a shield, though it doesn’t last long and attacks can get you from behind. This is also true if trying this as Dante, though the O shield move in Royal Guard style can be used successfully if you keep re-targeting to the Mephisto that is going to attack, and with Devil Trigger he can triple-jump to the Blue Orb Fragment earlier. Secret Mission 08: Press right on D-pad to be in Royal Guard Style. Now shoot down one of the Mephisto and kill it. With one left alive, get in the middle of the room and lock on. Now watch its attacks and time pressing O at the moment of impact to successfully perform a Royal Block. You have to get five without being touched. You’ll see the Mephisto charge the laser and it will lean back or spin before doing other attacks. Jump out of the way if you don’t fancy your chances against some of them though. |
| JavidSangra Posted 2/5/2008 4:59:35 AM | Secret Mission 09: Probably the hardest task in the whole game this. Eliminate the Chimera Seeds first; the first one will hatch just to the left of where you start. Turn around and use Stingers to take down the second one just by one of the pillars. Lastly, Stinger the final Seed that’s around to the right from the second one you just killed. If done correctly, you now have only standard Assaults to kill. Do so with Stingers and Million Stabs, jumping behind their guard as much as possible. Be relentless; close combat will be to your advantage, just so long as they are trying to block or are lying on the floor. Any standing Assaults should be avoided while you defeat the ones you have under control. Knock them down and keep striking. When the Faults appear underneath you, double jump and press T to use the air as an attack. Secret Mission 10: Power up the Gyro Blade, strike it with your sword and then punch it down the corridor. When you reach the open gate, guide the blade inside to destroy an object there, and also one outside of the open gate as well. Secret Mission 11: Make sure you have purchased Speed and the Revenge attack for the Pandora beforehand. As the mission starts, run to the right and down to the bottom of the stairs as straight as possible. Hold S, move A side-to-side and then rotate it until the blast cannon is produced. Now double check the height is aimed correctly with A by looking at the target laser and fire. You can try this from the top of the stairs but it’s much trickier. We had 15 seconds left after shooting the first object which was just enough time to reach and fire the second, let alone less fiddly. Quickly sprint back up and across the platform to the other side, again keeping as straight as possible. As soon as you get to the floor of the next room do the same Pandora Revenge blast on the second object ahead. Secret Mission 12: Equip the machine guns. Now use double jumps and tap S to remain airborne and hover over the top of the lasers. Start immediately as the mission begins and drop where there is one laser at the bottom followed by two at the top. Wait a splint second for the two top ones to pass over and then double jump and fire repeatedly again. Now drop after the wall of two lasers with one at the top and one at the bottom. Jump again and this time drop after the wall of three lasers. Now the sequence starts again, so drop after the bottom singular laser ducking under the two top lasers and repeat the jumps as before to the end. |
| JavidSangra Posted 2/5/2008 5:02:45 AM | Just to note, i write for a magzine here in the UK, that's why some of the buttons are letters you might not get (they get translated into the correct icons for the mag). Anyway, the face buttons should be recognisable, but A means left analogue, and v means Select. If theres anymore in there i missed just ask. |
| Zeph Posted 2/5/2008 5:08:55 AM | Wow, really nice. I never thought of using the shield move (never used it) for a few of those missions. Thanks! --- Purr-plexing-nyaa. |
| MunkehluvsJelly Posted 2/5/2008 5:15:31 AM | what about the seond wave of enemies? on unbreakable? :( --- GT: NECROMANIACAL |
| JavidSangra Posted 2/5/2008 5:18:10 AM | Yeah, me neither for a long while until it just dawned on me. It turns out it works really well! I forget the second part of Secret Mission 09: Here it all is... Probably the hardest task in the whole game this. Do so with Stingers, Million Stabs and O Swordmaster attacks, jumping behind their guard as much as possible. The next stage is where it gets hardcore. As soon as you kill the last Assault from previously, press l and use Devil Trigger to Splinter the nearest foe repeatedly. If you’re lucky you can get three of these in before the blades come out, enough to kill it, but avoid the two Faults that appear in the centre. With two left, use your shotgun while you jump and dodge danger to knock them down. Three shots has them grounded, giving a small window for a ground attack if you want to risk it before the blades reappear. Be on the lookout for where they spin in mid-air, this is followed by numerous swoops for you. Keep running and double jumping to avoid it until it stops and then continue using your shotgun. You can kill them gradually with its bullets so you don’t necessarily have to risk getting up close, as long as you can evade their attacks. Being in Trickster Style helps by using the O dash move. I didn’t risk the Royal Guard block, although that may be helpful also. |
| smokevatr Posted 2/5/2008 5:21:25 AM | MANY thanks .,.. i consider u yoda on dmc now .,... ;) |
| SteveBob Posted 2/5/2008 5:21:29 AM | What happens if you die in a secret mission? Also if you fail can you just retry or do you have to start the whole level again? --- "SteveBob that's unnatural..." - 19tom90 in awe of Moi awesomeness :D |
| JavidSangra Posted 2/5/2008 5:26:21 AM | If you die in a secret mission you have to restart from the nearest checkpoint in the main mission. If you fail the secret mission you can just try it again. |
