I just sent email to team 17 and this is what they said "NO ONLINE!!!"

I send and recieved the answer in January 18, 2008

>Hi, I am one of the biggest fan on your worms series.
>When I read IGN interview, it said worms: space odyssey will have online play.
>But the recent Nintendo Power says it is not going to have online play.
>This became one of the biggest issues in worms forums and many people are
>starting to say that they are not going to buy this game.
>I belive that worms can only be successful when people have competitive
>matches online so I do not trust Nintendo Power, but I still
>want to know the truth.
>Thank you very much for reading this email and I will be waiting for your
>answer.
>I can't wait for the new worms game.

Hello,

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to mail. We appreciate the time and
effort involved in mailing, and enjoy hearing from the people who play our
games.... we think it's one of the things that has kept the brand evergreen
for so many years.

In answer to the issue you highglight in your email, I'm afraid that online
will not be present in A Space Oddity. While I appreciate many gamers would
like to see that feature, we're not able to change the release date due to
contractual obligations with THQ.

I'm really sorry that I can't be more helpful in this instance, but hope
that you appreciate the effort and love that we *have* put into the game.
Whether you end up purchasing it or not (and I can understand if you're a
hardcore fan of the game, maybe "Worms Open Warfare 2" on PSP or DS: two
online-centric versions of the game, would be a flavour you'd enjoy more),
I'd like to thank you for taking the time to mail and say that we greatly
appreciate the feedback we get from fans of the game.

Best Regards

I am sure team 17 will develope a second worms game for the wii so we need not to worry. The same thing happened on the ds. He just wasn't going to mention that in the letter for sales reasons.

Gah...I was so excited when I saw that there was a Worms game being released for Wii. I'll still buy it, but only if it's $29.99. Given the fact that it probably won't sell terribly well at $49.99, I'm reasonably certain that getting it at $29.99 isn't such an unrealistic thing.

Well that sucks. No online = no buy

worms is only fun multiplayer.
