Welcome to The 'DDR Music & Lyric FAQ'.
Anyone who's played Dance Dance Revolution, or any of it's spin-offs and
clones knows that the most important aspect of the game is it's music. The aim
of this FAQ is to document the music that makes up the Dance Dance Revolution
series, providing trivia, lyrics, and information on the songs, and the
artists who compose and sing them, behind the scenes.

v5.5 - World's Smallest Update
Work on the lyrics has slowed down a bit, due to work on my new DDR
website project (wait for it - it's going to be BIG). Of course, there's VERY
little I can do at this point, so thank to Yuhyun Kim, Edward Jones and
Shdwrlm3, who pretty much did this update for me, with romanised japanese,
english translations, and some more than welcome nitpicking and criticism ^_^

v5.3 - placeholder (265 Songs)
Moved everything around for ease of navigation. The lyrics are now at
the top of the document, with the FAQ near the bottom. This makes it a
hell of a lot easier to update, and should make it easier to read, too.
(No more 3 minutes of searching to find the top of the lyrics list). The
FAQ is also reversed, so new questions are at the bottom, instead of the
top.. Again, making it easier to follow from now on.
The lateness of this update is brought to you courtesy of my new hard
drive, and having to rip all the OST discs into MP3 files again. For
some reason, my CDROM hates Club Mix... Oh, wait.. Most people hate Club
Mix..

vMAX - DDRMAX Update (255 Songs)
The demand and support I've come accross while working on DDRMAX lyrics
is quite simply overwhelming. Without much prompting, I've had
everything form lyric submissions, to someone offering to go down the
arcade with a dictation recorder, to record the mix-downs of the songs
used in the game, since MP3s didn't exist.
On a less-involved note, this update would never be possible if it
wasn't for EVERYONE in the DDR scene going crazy for DDRMAX, from the
arcade owners who ripped MP3 files from the arcade machines' CD-ROMs, to
Toshiba-EMI, who managed to put together and release the OST, within
WEEKS of the game's completion.
An even BIGGER thanks goes to Asami, Naoki, and Toshiba-EMI, for putting
together such an awesome soundtrack, in the first place. Unlike the past
few updates, working on MAX has been a joy - I simply cannot exhagerate
how much fun it is to listen to these songs in the first place
It should be noted that DDRMAX features remixes of 2 Disney Rave songs
(Twilight Zone and Let's Groove), which I've already covered in the FAQ.
While the lyrics are close to the original Disney Rave versions, they
have some rearrangements and additions, so I consider them to be
seperate songs, the new versions can be found directly under the old
versions, in the lyric section.

v4.5 - Just Evolution
It's been a loooong time since I wrote v2 of this FAQ, and all that
time, I've pretty much only waited for this moment. The DDRMAX Sound
Versions are out, meaning I need to write lyrics for them RIGHT NOW..
Well, actualy, that's just an excuse to listen to Bye Bye Baby Baloon on
a constant loop for a few hours.
Finaly caved in to all those EMails, and included Electrical Parade
lyrics. Anyone who wants to check them out and disputes them, might want
to slow down a recording of the song, and verify that the last word
can't possibly be "radio". Before you EMail me about the song, please
consider that I spent 2 months refusing to print the lyrics, and I'm
only doing so now, because 5-10 people EMail me per week, asking me to
include them.
That said, thanks to EVERYONE who keeps Emailing in corrections,
contributions, and everyone who points out songs that are missing. In
the process of working through each game, there are quite a few songs
which I forget to include, for whatever reason. If you see any songs
missing, which aren't in the 'requests' section, then please drop me a
line, and point it out.
Since I'm going to be busy for a while, if anyone wants to speed up the
process a bit, by contributing some lyrics, I've added my current
workload of songs to the Requests section. If you want to contribute,
EMail me first to see if I've already done the song, so you don't waste
your time transcribing something that's already been done by someone
else.

Club Mix is starting to drive me insane, so thanks to all those
delightfuly incoherant hip-hop songs, I'm going to work in smaller
updates, meaning updates on DDRMAX and Club Mix side by side, so I can
get the DDRMAX lyrics updated while there's such a huge interest in the
game... Does that make sense?

v4.0 - Another Catch-Up (222 songs)
Somtimes, the task of transcribing every single DDR song seems a little
daunting, sometimes - downright impossible. From the very start, a
complete FAQ seemed somewhat unatainable, because songs like Hot Limit,
D.D.D and the Korean songs were immediately put on a shelf, out of the
way, knowing I shouldn't waste my time even bothering to try and
transcribe them myself.
Suddenly, within a week, it's all changed, and thanks to everyone else
who wants to see the goal of transcribing every single song achieved, we
have Hot Limit, D.D.D, and other songs I really never thought I'd
manage. At this rate, I'm just waiting for someone who knows the lyrics
to Conga Feeling to read this, and share them with the world. It's a
good day to be a DDR music geek ^_^

v3.5 - 3rd Release Plus (212 songs)
Pretty much a fix-up update. After going through the entire lyric list,
all songs now have their speed listed in Beats Per Minute, and the
listings of which games each song is featured in is now 100% accurate,
and lists Solo Bass Mix and Solo 2000 as 2 seperate games, since I now
know which songs belong in each game (I haven't seen a Bass Mix machine
since 1999)
Besides that, it's all gone a bit Korean..
I should explain how the Korean songs have been transcribed.. I scour
the net for 3 hours a night, trying to find lyrics in Korean.. Then I
run them through the awesome script at [http://www.kmon.net], which
romanises them.. This basicaly means that instead of translating the
words from Korean to English, it translates the letters from Korean
letters to their english counterparts, giving the english syllables
required to read and sing along, without understanding a word of Korean.
Since I don't speak Korean myself, I obviously can't vouch for the
accuracy of the script, or the original Korean lyrics (unknowingly
contributed by people who's names I can't even spell). Suffice to say,
if there are any errors with the Korean lyrics, I can't actualy spot or
fix them.
Thanks to Jam Biel, we know have an english translation of Danger, how
interesting to finaly find out what the song is even about ^_^
Other additions come in the form of rarities from DDR 0.5. I'm not 100%
sure whether the lyrics correspond exactly with the in-game versions,
but since the game doesn't even exist anymore, we'll probably never know
for sure.

v3.0 - Disney Rave Update (23 new songs - 204 total)
In special recognition of breaking the 200 song barrier, I treated
myself to a break from working on Disney Rave, and transcribed one of
the KOREAN songs. Danger, by Tashannie has the honor of being the first
korean song to get into the FAQ, and also has the honor of being song
#200 to be transcribed. Fittingly, it's also my current favorite DDR
song right now, and contains some english lyrics, as well as the Korean
lyrics, which have been romanised, to make it easy for non-Korean
speakers to sing along. The song is also known as 'Caution' in Pump It
Up, and 'Gyoung Go' in Korea, which literaly translates to 'Warning!'.
On a sidenote, I'm now officialy sick of Disney Rave's soundtrack, Some
of these songs require 30 minutes of listening to get all the lyrics
completely accurate, and while I don't usualy mind, Disney Rave is
getting to be a chore. I'll just make up for it by working on my
favorite DDR soundtrack next ^_^
