Introduction
Thunder is the newest 3-D fighter from Atari. I don't know if any of
you were big Mace fans, but I wasn't. Thunder isn't much better ( At
this point atleast, it's only 50% complete). The game looks like it has
potential, but it lacks a sturdy combo system and character variety.
One good thing is that Atari strechted the usual super meter and instead
of level 3 the meter now goes up to level 5.
What's New
This game has a new counter system, one that seems to be mastered by the
last two opponents you face who seem to counter 99% of the time. You
just press weak punch and weak kick at the same time and your character
will counter. The timing on the counters seems strange to me though, I
like Tekken style counters much more. One good thing this game has is
supers. It is the only game besides Street Figher EX to have supers in
a 3-D environment. One other addition is a side step. You sidestep by
tapping forwards twice. The sidestep control seems a little weak to me
in this game. The last thing added in this game ( Though as of now it
is only available to two characters) is a hyper mode in which your
character's super meter vanishes and while it is gone you can do one
really big super.
Kyo's Character Profile
Kyo is like no other character ever created. He is unique and has no
resemblence to any character from any other game. His fighting style is
all his own. YEAH RIGHT!!!!! He is basically your Ken/Ryu type
character. Even the name is ripped off of Ken-Ryu. He has a super
fireball, uppercut, and a rising combo super similar to Allen's from
Street Fighter EX + Alpha.

wide fireball that hits up to 10 times )
Combos
The combo system is this game is very weak and the game lacks good
chain combos, however there is still some combos that are fun to do.
Normal Combos
Jump in with FK, WP, WP, WP, F + MP, MK, FK
This combo is a jumpkick followed by three standing jabs, and then the
Rush Combo
Jump in with FK, WP, WP, FP, Two in one into a Fierce Fireball
Self explanatory. This combo is difficult to get all the hits to
connect and does little damage, I don't recommend it.
Jump in with FK, WP, Ducking WP, two in one into Fierce Uppercut
Self Explanatory. Use the Down from the Ducking WP as part of your
uppercut motion.
Combos With Supers
Jump in with FK, WP, WP, WP, Ducking FK, Two in one into Rising Combo
A jumpkick, three jabs, a trip kick, and as they fall from the trip
kick the get sucked into the Rising Combo.
Jump in with FK, WP, WP, WP, F + MP, MK, two in one into Rising Combo
Jumpkick, three jabs, the first two hits of the Rush Combo, then a
Rising Combo. OUCH!
Hyper Combo
Activate Hyper Mode, Jump in with FK, WP, WP, WP, F + MP, MK, Two in one
into SUPER Fireball
This one is fun, but if you are hit while in Hyper Mode, you lose the
ability to use the Fireball, so it is hard to pull this combo off.
